LNT & Partners has successfully obtained the retail licence for HLA Garment (Vietnam) Company Limited to open a new retail store in AEON MALL Long Bien, Hanoi, Vietnam.

HLA Garment (Vietnam) Company Limited is a wholly foreign owned retailer, a subsidiary of HLA Group and internationally known for its menswear lines.

The licence is special in that it is the second one granted to HLA, and was obtained timely within a record timeline so that the store could open for Christmas and the New Year’s.

Set up, build and manage one’s own chain of retail stores is desirable to any retailers. However, it is well-known among foreign retailers that opening any retail store beyond the first one is highly restrictive in Vietnam. The law requires foreign retailers to pass the so-called Economic Needs Test (ENT) or ENT exemption, which have proved too challenging to pass for many foreign retailers. LNT’s successful obtainment of the special retail licence not only proves the firm’s professional capability to pave the legal way for its clients’ expansion but also brings hope to foreign retailers who wish to open and run their own stores – a business autonomy that any retailer would dream to realise.
