Dr. Van Tuan Nguyen is a partner in charge of the firm’s Corporate practice group. With more than 22 years of legal experience, he has advised on a wide variety of matters including international private law, foreign investment, corporate compliance, intellectual property and dispute resolution.
Prior to joining LNT & Partners, Dr. Nguyen was Deputy Director of Vietnam Airlines' Legal Department, where he advised the Board of Director and CEO on issues of compliance with foreign laws, intellectual property, aircraft leasing and dispute resolution. He also previously worked as Head of International Private Law Division for the Ministry of Justice and was responsible for researching, drafting laws and acting as the Government’s legal counsel in negotiating various treaties, including FTAs and Investment Agreements such as BOT contracts and Government Guarantee and Undertakings (GGU).
Dr. Nguyen is a visiting lecturer for undergraduate programmes on International Arbitration at Hanoi Law University and for Masters of Economics programmes on Media and International Business Law at National Economics University. He also gives lectures at Vietnam Judicial Academy on investor-state dispute resolution for Vietnamese lawyers and officials of various ministries, State agencies and provincial departments. Dr. Nguyen has authored numerous legal articles and books on foreign investment in Vietnam.
Tiến sĩ Nguyễn Văn Tuấn là Luật sư thành viên của LNT & Partners. Với hơn 22 năm kinh nghiệm pháp lý, ông đã tư vấn về nhiều vấn đề khác nhau bao gồm luật tư pháp quốc tế, đầu tư nước ngoài, tuân thủ doanh nghiệp, sở hữu trí tuệ và giải quyết tranh chấp.
Trước khi gia nhập LNT & Partners, ông là Phó Giám đốc Ban Pháp chế của Vietnam Airlines tư vấn cho Hội đồng quản trị và Giám đốc điều hành về các vấn đề tuân thủ luật pháp nước ngoài, sở hữu trí tuệ, cho thuê máy bay và giải quyết tranh chấp. Trước đây, ông cũng từng là Trưởng Bộ phận Luật Tư nhân Quốc tế của Bộ Tư pháp và chịu trách nhiệm nghiên cứu, soạn thảo luật và đóng vai trò là cố vấn pháp lý của Chính phủ trong việc đàm phán các hiệp ước khác nhau, bao gồm các Hiệp định thương mại tự do và Hiệp định đầu tư như hợp đồng BOT, Cam kết và Bảo lãnh của Chính phủ (GGU) .
Ông là giảng viên thỉnh giảng cho các chương trình đại học về Trọng tài Quốc tế tại Đại học Luật Hà Nội và cho các chương trình Thạc sĩ Kinh tế về Luật Kinh doanh Quốc tế và Truyền thông tại Đại học Kinh tế Quốc dân. Ông cũng tham gia giảng dạy tại Học viện Tư pháp Việt Nam về giải quyết tranh chấp giữa nhà đầu tư-nhà nước cho các luật sư Việt Nam và cán bộ của các bộ, cơ quan nhà nước và các sở, ban, ngành cấp tỉnh. Ông là tác giả của nhiều bài báo và sách pháp luật về đầu tư nước ngoài tại Việt Nam.

Advising the Board of Directors and CEO on domestically legal matters which need to ensure the compliance with laws of Vietnam, particularly the Law on Enterprise, law on Investment Law on Aviation, etc. and Charter and other internal rules of Vietnam Airlines.
Acting as a Legal Counsel to the Government in negotiating, drafting and advising the Government Agencies in BOT contracts on electricity projects such as Mong Duong, Vinh Tan, Hai Duong, Kien Luong, Nghi Son Powers, loan agreements for Powers Project, and joint-venture contracts;
Advising Petro Vietnam and its authorized representative to the Members of Council at Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Ltd (the "Company") on the management and operation of the Company;
Acting as a Legal Counsel to the Government to settle investor-state dispute cases such as Mc Kenzie v the Government of Vietnam; Trinh Vinh Binh v. the Government of Vietnam
Member of Drafting Legislation Committees and attending the Committee meetings of Parliament for discussion and consideration of various legislation of Vietnam;
Member of Vietnamese Government’s Delegations in negotiating ASEAN Treaties;
Advising ECOPARK in negotiation, drafting and amending the Management Agreement for Chadwick International School – Ha Noi;
Advising PVI Holdings in financial restructure of the Group, including PVI Re, PVI Insurance and PVI AM.
In charge of SIAC Arbitration ARB319/21/HTD case between Power Generation Corporation 1 vs. PT Trubaindo Coal Mining and Banpu Minerals Pte Ltd.
In charge of SIAC Arbitration No. 416 of 2021 (ARB/416/21/HTD) between Petronica Inc vs. Petroleum Offshore Trading and Services JSC.
