Duong is Senior Counsel at LNT & Partners. She is a dual-qualified disputes lawyer, admitted in Vietnam and as a solicitor of England & Wales, with more than ten years’ experience in international arbitration across private practice and the two leading arbitral institutions in the region.
Her practice focuses on international arbitration, with particular depth in construction and infrastructure disputes, and State-owned enterprise matters. She also acts in domestic arbitration and cross-border commercial disputes. She advises clients at every stage of a dispute, from early strategy and risk assessment through to the conduct of proceedings and enforcement, under the ICC, UNCITRAL, SIAC and VIAC rules, among others.
As counsel, Duong has acted in ICC and UNCITRAL arbitrations exceeding US$1 billion in aggregate, including disputes arising from major construction and infrastructure projects. She brings a particular strength to construction and infrastructure work, including disputes under FIDIC and other standard forms of contract. Clients come to her to shape how a case is run, how to frame the claims that matter, anticipate the other side’s moves, and build toward an award that will hold.
That judgment is grounded in an unusually close view of how arbitration actually works. At the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Duong worked on more than 400 international arbitrations under the SIAC and UNCITRAL Rules, and earlier at the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) on more than 100 cases. The experience gives her something few counsel can offer: a first-hand understanding of how tribunals reach the decisions that determine a dispute, and how to plan a case around them from the outset rather than react to them later.
Duong works in English and Vietnamese. She speaks and writes regularly on international arbitration and construction disputes.
